Trout fishing in Patagonia
The wild brown and rainbow trouts will be the companions of a muscular game for this stay. Fishes of 40-50 cm are numerous but the surprise of being confronted with a much larger specimen sometimes gives a thrill to any fisherman, however experienced he is.
No realease is done in Patagonia, all fish are wild and only under limited fishing pressure.
Equipment
A 9 or 10 foot fly rod # 4-5 or 6 with small ephemeral and larger sedge-type flies or terrestrial dry grasshoppers (grasshoppers, Chernobyl ants ...), a few nymphs of different ballasting (to very heavy ones) as well as a more powerful set (line # 8, some sinking tips and streamers) will be a necessary base for fly fishermen.
A lightweight set with a variety of lures of different densities (spoons, plugs, soft lures) equipped with a 10 lbs line will be the ideal equipment for casters.
Clothing: Waders (allow waterproof jacket, gore tex jumpers and spare clothes as well as a waterproof bag). Sunglasses and / or polarizing, sunscreen, mosquito repellent.
